Cookers & Gas Supply

The cookers use propane bottled gas. The bottles are located outside, to the rear of the building.

If the gas runs out please contact our Facilities Manager, John Darlington who will connect a full bottle.

 

Gas Cooker/Oven instructions:

  1. Turn on the Extractor switch adjacent to the toasters.

  2. Ensure emergency stop button adjacent to cookers is out

  3. If required, press reset button on extract hood controller (green light will illuminate)

  4. Light gas as required

  5. When finished, turn off all gas taps on the cookers and turn off the Extractor switch adjacent to the toasters; this automatically closes the gas valve.

To light the hob burners:

Use the lighter provided or long matches.

The ignition button does NOT light the hob burners.

To light the ovens:

Turn oven knob to the star position and keep held in while pressing the ignition button on front of cooker.

 

In an emergency & at end of your stay:

Isolate the gas supply by pressing the red emergency stop button adjacent

to the cookers.

Please do not block any window ventilation grills while using the cookers.
